A succession of panels that, like the wings in the theaters, hide the disorder of the background from the magic of the scene.
Inspiration
Before the work, the garden was an empty, lifeless and abandoned space. I was asked to do something that could generate a different perception of the site. I had just some cement and the earth of the site itself at my disposal. And then, as it often happens, there was very little money available and many problems to solve. So what to invent with some cement and a bunch of earth?
A succession of panels that, like the wings in the theaters, hide the disorder of the background from the magic of the scene..
Process
I used the earth to create big sculptural molds. I painted them with colorful sands and poured concrete over. The colors became a solid part of the material. Finally, once dried, I lifted them up with a crane and relocated the sculptures to their final position.
